Individual Student Study Spaces
Reserve a personal study space by visiting the Student Space page. These spaces can be used for virtual instruction, private appointments, or other needs, such as virtual meetings with University Counseling Service, Student Care and Assistance, or Student Health. A list of available rooms can be found here.

Open Study Rooms
Classroom Scheduling reserves university classroom space across campus to be used as open study rooms for students in the evenings. These rooms change semester to semester based on availability.

Van Allen Commons
Van Allen Commons is a learning space equipped in the TILE fashion - where opportunities to Transform, Interact, Learn and Engage are abundant. The Van Allen Commons is available for student use, Monday - Friday from 6:30 am - 10:00 pm. Individual study rooms can be reserved here.

Instructional Technology Centers and Computer Labs
Instructional Technology Centers (ITCs) and Other Computer Labs on Campus provide students with campus-wide access to the University's academic computing resources.

Main Library
Quiet study spaces are found throughout the Main Library. With group study spaces, desktop and laptop computers, and an active learning area on the first floor, options are endless. For more information, please view the Main Library Directory.

Iowa Memorial Union Study Spaces
Centrally located on campus, the IMU features convenient study spaces with access to WiFi, three computer labs, dining options, a ground floor Academic Resource Center and Learning Commons, and several tucked-away spaces to study.

SDS Lounge in University Capitol Centre
The SDS Lounge, located in the University Capitol Centre, is a low-sensory space dedicated to and designed for students with disabilities, embodying the mission and vision of Student Disability Services (SDS). Open to all students, the SDS Lounge reflects the commitment to a university where every individual thrives as an integral part of our academic community.
